So this past week, instead of actually studying for Chinese, I watched Skip Beat! (the Taiwanese drama). Gotta say that it was a little disappointing, lol. I mean, I've never read the manga it's based on, so I dunno how true to the manga it is (though I know that the manga is still ongoing), but based on the synopsis I read of the show, it didn't really fulfill my expectations.

Gong Xi sacrificed her life to support her boyfriend, Bu Puo Shang, so he could become a successful singer. One day, Shang suddenly breaks up with Gong Xi, leaving her with nothing, and Gong Xi vows revenge. She decides to delve into the entertainment world and become even more successful than Shang to get back at him. Gong Xi therein meets Dun He Lian, another actor in her agency, who helps motivate her to become a top entertainer. -- D-Addicts

I mean, that totally sounds intriguing, right? But the show kinda falls short.

So there's more bad in my lists than good (though there are lots of other things I left out that I have feelings about), but yeah, lol. I mean, the show was okay, but it did drag at times. I already had feelings of discontent halfway through because, most of the time, the main issue is almost fully resolved (or, at least, a big revelation is had regarding the main issue) by the halfway point, but it definitely wasn't here, so I was totally discouraged as I watched. And then the last episode comes and that, to me, was pretty much the halfway resolution mark. (You know, basically when Shang realizes he still has feelings for Gong Xi! Wasn't that was suppose to happen, like, seven episodes ago?!) So really, where is the other 15 or so episodes that explores Shang and the dynamic between him, Gong Xi, and Lian and gives us a resolution for all of them?!


Yeah, anyways, I need to study for Chinese f'real now since I have finals coming up this week. =/

   Can we talk about WTF GD's pants are and WTF that skirt is? LOLOLOL! I mean, really! The scarf is obviously there to hide the rip in his crotch -- that's the only explanation I can come up with, LOLOLOLOL!
   
   Also, Big Bang on Go Show was awesome. Some highlights include TOP randomly sitting in the host's lap, Taeyang's sushi dance, and how serious Daesung takes facial cleaning, lol. ♥



3. MESA!
   Only three more weeks until Mesa's over! I can't wait! It's only been one week of work + school and I already feel tired, lol. Plus the drive to and from work is so long! ;_____; I mean, there isn't much traffic (except there was today for some reason), but it still takes 40 minutes to get there one way! =( Ridiculous! And then when I get home, I just wanna relax.=/ Oh well, what can you do...

I need to get some studying done now.

1. EMPLOYED!
   FUCK YEAH, got the Project Manager job that I went to interview for! \o/ They called me last night around 7:30PM and left me a message. I called them back this morning to talk about it and yeah, I start on Monday! SO SOON! But they really need the help, I guess. But yeah, I'm sad that I can't sleep in anymore! (And that I will have to actually go to sleep at a decent hour instead of 1-2AM, lol.) I'll definitely miss sitting around doing nothing but reading fic and watching videos all day, but at least I have a job now! YAY! The only really crappy thing is traffic though. =/ I wish I work was in the opposite direction of traffic, but alas, I don't have good luck like aznearthdragon in these matters.



2. MARIANAS TRENCH
   I finally got around to downloading/listening to Marianas Trench's most recent album! (Okay, it totally came out, like, five months ago, but it totally slipped my mind!) Good thing Marianas Trench came up on shuffle the other day! XD Anyway, the new album, Ever After, is pretty awesome. I was kinda worried that it wouldn't be able to measure up to Masterpiece Theatre (since that album is freakin' awesome) and, honestly, it's not as good, but it's definitely a solid album (especially if you don't compare it to its predecessor). Definitely recommend if you like rock/pop kinda stuff -- it's a bit more pop-ish than Masterpiece Theatre, which I thought did a good job of balancing the two, but yeah. (And, if you like rock/pop and have never heard of Marianas Trench, you should definitely get Masterpiece Theatre because it is amazing, seriously!)



3. BOWLING
   Went bowling today with the family today. It's been a while since I've gone, so I was kinda rusty. My mom was really good, even though she hasn't been bowling in forever, LOLOL. I was actually doing well in the beginning (was pretty much competing with my mom for first place), but it kinda went downhill near the end, LOL. My brother was the most fail out of all of us and aznearthdragon ended up doing did slightly better than him, haha. My dad was pretty sucky too in the beginning, but somehow he ended up beating me by, like a point or two, lol.

   They are so adorable! The psychological test results were hilarious, LOLOL! And it was so cute when they were speaking Chinese! Especially how happy TOP was to say "我是TOP!" LOLOL. ♥



2. NU'EST
   
   I saw their debut stage on M! Countdown last month and thought this song was super catchy, but I didn't get around to downloading it until last night. And then I didn't get around to watching the video until this morning (I generally don't watch MVs). Anyway, I like this song and the video is pretty good. (I haven't looked at the lyrics, but based on the video, I'm assuming it's about bullying.)
   
   I checked on Wiki and these boys are SO YOUNG! Four of them are younger than my brother and that's just weird to me, LOL. I don't know any of their names, but the blond one that looks like a girl (he's so pretty!) is totally my favorite, LOLOL. ♥

I should probably get around to studying for Chinese now... =/

1. MESA / CHINESE
   First off, WTF, why are there still six more weeks of class?! =( I hate semester system so much! Quarter system is infinitely better. If this were quarter system, we'd already be done because we've already had class for ten weeks! x_x Also, it sucks to go back after spring break (which was last week). Stupid school. =(
   
   In some totally-not-news, I still suck at speaking Chinese. =/ Yesterday in class, the professor decided he wanted to check everyone's tones, since half the class was missing, and so we had to choose a dialogue from the book to read to him. I decided to choose the most recent one, even though I totally didn't even study it, because we need to memorize that one for the oral final anyway. I totally sucked, lol. I think it was a combination of nervousness and just my own fail-ness. =/
   
   I was suppose to give my oral presentation yesterday too, but I think the professor forgot about that 'cause it took basically the whole time to check everyone. Also the other person who was suppose to go yesterday wasn't there either. I'm kinda glad because I hate presenting, but I kinda wish I just got it over with. =/ Now I probably have to present tomorrow and we have a test tomorrow. =(((((( Ugh, life.



2. ICE SKATING & HIKING
   This past weekend I went ice skating and hiking! On Saturday we went ice skating -- I kinda sucked in the beginning, but by the end I got the hang of it. My brother, though, was totally fail, LOLOLOL. NGL, It was pretty hilarious watching him. XP
   
   On Sunday, we went hiking at Cowles Mountain. That one was a million times easier than the hike to Potato Chip Rock, LOL. Sadly on the way down, I had to fall, of course, and I got a bruise on my left knee. x_x It's in the same location as the one I got back when I fell at Montana de Oro, but luckily it isn't a big as that one. It still hurts though. =/
   
   In other news, apparently most stores are CLOSED on Easter -- who knew?! Apparently not us, that's for sure, LOLOLOL, because after our hike, we were like, "Let's go to the mall!" and then we drove to Parkway Plaza, which is an indoor mall, and seriously, almost nothing was open! It was seriously mindbogging -- I mean, stores are usually open on holidays, right? Well, now we know, LOL.



3. YG ON STRONG HEART
   Slightly old and probably everyone has seen it already, but the YG Family special on Strong Heart was awesome! I haven't watched the second episode subbed yet 'cause I'm waiting for Royal Ace's version, but I did watch the raw and read a rough summary of it, so at least I know the gist, lol. Anyway, in case you haven't seen it yet...

4. EXO
   I watched the Debut Showcase thing that SM posted on YT because I was curious, but TBH, I wasn't really that into them? I mean, I didn't watch any of the teasers or MVs or anything before, so I didn't really have any expectations. The concept of two subgroups promoting the same album/songs is totally ridiculous to me though (and so obviously a ploy to just get the most money possible since fans will have to buy double everything). Anyway, ignoring that, I'm willing to give them a chance to win me over through variety shows (because at this point, I don't really care for their songs enough to watch performances, lol). I downloaded their mini-album and my favorites are History and Machine. Also Two Moons (K / M) because that song is ridiculous in the best way, LOLOLOLOL.
   
   Based off the showcase thing, most of my favorites (based on looks because I'm shallow like that) are in EXO-M. (I wish all my favorites were in the same group because then there would be less effort involved in following them, LOLOLOL.) I looked on Wiki and these boys are all so young! I guess it's okay though, because my feelings for them are all in the OMG YOU ARE SO CUTE variety, lol. Anyway, the only thing I've watched is EXO-M on Sina Chat and they were so ridiculously awkward and adorable, LOLOLOL. I still don't really know all their names yet, but I really like the four Chinese members, especially Kris and LuHan -- they are adorable! (I already admitted I'm shallow.)

I have been super into Big Bang lately which means I've pretty much been watching all the things. (You know, since I have no life.) Anyway, let's just say this is pretty much a recap of Big Bang stuff from the last two weeks, LOL.

1. RUNNING MAN!
   Episode 84 & Episode 85 from KShowNow. (I'm still waiting for iSUBS to finish subbing these two episodes, since their subs are the best, but this totally works in the mean time. XP)
   
   They are so adorably fail in the first part, lol. ♥ I love how TOP follows Daesung around in the beginning -- it's so cute! And Seungri, he was so ridiculous, LOLOLOL. If nothing else, he should have at least hid the bag of bells before attempting his plan. And then there was Taeyang being totally cute and dorky, TOP being fail at running, and the ridiculous GD vs HaHa chase, LOLOLOL.
   
   I thought the second part was WAY more epic than the first one, but man, those rings made me cringe SO MUCH with secondhand embarrassment, LOLOLOL. I like how all the boys kept gathering together whenever they got someone on the Running Man team -- it was ridiculously adorable. ♥



2. FANTASTIC BABY!
   My favorite! Plus, it's also the best song for live performances, therefore posting pretty much all of their performances of it so far, LOLOLOL. XP (Not that I don't like Blue or Bad Boy, because I do, but you have to admit that Fantastic Baby is the most exciting to see!)

2. JURY DUTY!
   Remember back, like, a month ago, when I said I had jury duty? I don't think I ever said anything on here about it, but that day they said they were looking for jurors to be on a long two-month criminal case and I was called back to be a potential juror. Anyway, I had to go back, like, three times. The first callback was to get more info on the case and to fill out questionaires, the second one was a follow-up on the questionaires, and the last callback was for final selection, which was on Tuesday. This was my first time going through this process because the other 2-3 times I've had jury duty, I just showed up on the first day and my name was never called, lol.
   
   So yeah, on Tuesday, they were making the final juror selections -- if you've never experienced it, the way it works is they have 12 potential jurors sitting in the box and each side would take turns excusing one person from the box and then the next potential juror would replaced the excused person until a jury is picked. I happened to be near the end of the line of potential jurors of the first set (about 50-ish people? I think they had about 100-ish potential jurors which they split into two groups), so I kinda thought they might not even get to me since it was pretty fast in the beginning and was starting to slow down, lol. They did get to me though and I was actually really nervous sitting in the box even though I didn't even have to do anything but sit there, LOL. But yeah, I think it was because the five or so people before me got excused right away, before they even got a chance to sit down in the box, so I was hoping for that too! But I ended up sitting in there for (what felt like) a long while because both sides were taking a long time deciding on who they wanted to excuse and one of the sides started passing on their turn, so I was kinda worried that I would end up on the jury! There were, like, ten other people excused while I was sitting there before I was finally excused.
   
   Anyway, that was my ridiculously boring jury duty story, LOL. I'm glad I didn't have to be on the jury for it. I mean, I don't have a job, so it's not like it would have mattered that I would be on a long case, but I don't think I could have handled the case itself. I don't think I'm suppose to talk about any details or anything, but it was a pretty big case with some pretty serious charges, so yeah.



3. CHINESE!
   We had a pinyin test in Chinese class on Tuesday! We went over the answers right away afterward and I actually did better than I expected, lol. I mean, I know I took Chinese before, but I kinda totally fail at pinyin and I think pinyin is, like, the hardest part of learning Chinese -- I mean, besides the speaking part, LOLOLOL.
   
   Anyway, while we're talking about class, can I say how much I hate semester system? Because seriously, quarter system is definitely more my speed! 16 weeks in one class seems like FOREVER, especially considering we'd be halfway through if this was quarter system. I'd forgotten how torturously LONG semester system was and how slow it was too. I'm tired of going to class already, lol, but May is so far away. =(

That's pretty much it. As for job hunting, it's whatever. Same old, same old. Send out resumes, hear back except for once-in-a-blue-moon, and then nothing. =/
